Originally, I was against the concept. It seemed to me that the people should be able to choose whether or not someone was fit to continue. Over the years, however, I've come to the conclusion that term limits can be a useful tool in removing someone who gets re-elected by virtue of his name, not his efforts. (Example: Edward Kennedy) <BR/>Lengthening the term of a Congressman from two years to four years makes sense, for if a person, so elected, wishes to continue, he is forced to expend too much time cultivating the money machine.<BR/>Likewise, shortening the term of a senator to four years is also worthy of consideration, for why should we taxpayers have to suffer for a mistake for six long years?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
